This is the homepage for InterWorks Europe Limited (IWE). IWE is a small consultancy working with the aid sector. The principal consultant is John Cosgrave, who has over 30 years of professional experience in over fifty countries world wide. This site is essentially an online curriculum vitae for our principal consultant.
John is a flexible, resourceful, and goal-orientated multi-sectoral professional with strong evaluation, assessment, and writing skills. He can combine more than thirty years of work experience in over fifty countries with conceptual frameworks to quickly identify the main issues, and then communicate this analysis clearly in reports or through training. John's key skill areas are:
- Evaluation: Wide range of evaluation experience, generally as team leader. Evaluations range from single project to multi-country and multi-agency studies. My reports give a clear summary of the main issues and well-grounded recommendations.
- Training: John's learning from experience, reviews, and evaluations feeds into the training that he does. He has experience of course design and evaluation; of designing and delivering training materials; and of facilitation and mentoring.
- Other experience: Building and leading teams of national and international staff to get the job done. Rapidly identifying and solving complex personnel, management, and financial problems in troubled programmes. Setting up new programmes. Site assessment and planning, including water and sanitation. NGO security reviews and civil-military cooperation. Writing.
