Learning
Learning is a life-long process, and John has made a committment to continuing formal learning as well as to less formal learning. While it's a poor day that you don't learn something (especially in evaluation or training), only the more formal sort of learning leaves an audit trail.
The following lists the education and training undergone by John Cosgrave. The duration of full time courses is given in weeks, months, or years. The duration of distance learning courses is given in the rated hours. However, John often reads widely around topics to situate them better. The Continuing Education Units (CEU) or European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) credits applicable to the distance learning courses is also given.
In addition to the training below John Cosgrave spends at least another 400 hours a year on other continuing professional development including reading journals, peer reviews, pro-bono research, reading relevant texts, and developing specific skills.
